Sport Injuries
Getting hurt doesn't mean getting sidelined indefinitely. The right assessment and targeted treatment plan gets athletes back to training faster and stronger than rest alone ever will. Dr. Austin has been there. He gets it.
Why sport injuries need more than rest.
The old RICE protocol (rest, ice, compression, elevation) is outdated for most athletic injuries. Modern sports rehabilitation understands that graded loading, movement restoration, and addressing the biomechanical factors that led to the injury in the first place are what actually return athletes to sport safely and durably.
Chiropractic care combined with ART® soft tissue work and corrective exercise is especially effective for sport injuries because it addresses three layers at once: joint restriction, soft tissue dysfunction, and movement pattern failure. Athletes don't just need the pain gone. They need to trust the body part again under load.
As a 100-mile ultra finisher and lifelong athlete, Dr. Austin understands the difference between "cleared to train" and actually being ready to perform.

The ADAPT approach to sport injury
We work backward from your sport. The treatment plan isn't just "fix the hurt thing" — it's build a clear pathway from where you are today to where you need to be for your next training block, race, or season.
"The goal isn't just getting you out of pain. It's getting you back to the level you were at or better."
— Dr. Austin Stivison, DCSport & injury intake
We understand your sport, your training history, your goals, and what "back to full function" actually means for you.
Movement & load assessment
SFMA identifies what's restricted, compensating, or breaking down under the demands of your specific activity.
Targeted treatment
Adjustments and ART® soft tissue work to restore tissue quality, joint mechanics, and movement confidence.
Progressive loading
Sport-specific loading progressions to rebuild strength, power, and trust in the injured area before return to training.
Return-to-sport clearance
You'll know you're ready, not because the pain is gone, but because the movement and load capacity tests say so.
