Neck & Back Pain
Whether it's a dull ache that won't quit or sharp pain that stops you mid-movement. Neck and back pain is one of the most common things we treat at ADAPT, and one of the most treatable. We find the cause, not just the symptom.
What's actually causing your neck or back pain?
Neck and back pain rarely comes from a single event. More often it's the result of accumulated stress on joints, muscles, and discs, poor movement patterns, posture held too long, a body that's compensating for a restriction somewhere else.
The frustrating part is that most treatments chase the pain rather than find what's driving it. An adjustment helps, but if the underlying movement dysfunction isn't addressed, the pain keeps coming back. That's why every ADAPT treatment plan starts with a movement assessment, not a guess.
Common drivers we find: restricted thoracic spine mobility, tight hip flexors that overload the lumbar spine, weak deep cervical flexors creating neck instability, and SI joint dysfunction that refers pain across the low back.
The ADAPT approach to neck & back pain
We don't treat pain, we treat the movement dysfunction causing it. Every plan starts with the SFMA to identify exactly where your body is restricted, compensating, or breaking down under load.
Movement assessment
SFMA identifies the root dysfunction. Not just where it hurts, but why it hurts.
Hands-on treatment
Adjustments and soft tissue work to restore motion and reduce pain — starting visit one.
Corrective rehab
Targeted exercises to retrain movement patterns and prevent recurrence.
Progressive strength
Build resilience so the problem doesn't keep coming back every few months.
